Rolie Polie

Keira rolled from her back to her tummy at exactly 2 months old! She really is growing up so fast! This is another long video, but the fun stuff is at the beginning if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

She did this last night, but it was so dark that the video was hard to see. So here she is today, still rolling away!

2 months already?

This is what I get to be with everyday! I'm so lucky! (It's late at night so sorry if it's super dark and it's kind of a long one)

Isn't she so funny? Usually, she rolls side to side and makes her way around in circles, but this was the first time I had seen this. She's growing up so fast! 2 months! Can you believe it? It cracks me up how much she loves this play yard. Poor Rick...he's counting down the days til he gets to be home with her all the time. I LOVE BEING A MOM!

I decided since I wasn't fast enough to get a picture of her smiling that I would video it. I swear! Every time I pull out the camera, she stops smiling! What a booger!

Keira's first trip to the lake

Today Keira and I went to Crystal Lake with some of our girlfriends out here. It was THE PERFECT DAY! It wasn't humid and the beach was beautiful.

Sandra, Adria, and Lauren (Lauren has actually just moved here from Utah. Her husband doesn't work for APX, but she is such a doll.)

Just some fun pictures of our Cuteness...

One more baby shower...

I had a nice surprise by the ward out here when they decided to throw a baby shower! There was one other girl, Mindy, who also had her baby here so they threw us a joint party. It was so great. What I really loved about it was that the guests could bring gifts to donate to babies in need in the ward and if they wanted, they could bring us some basics. We are only here for the summer so the only needs we really have are diapers and wipes because we go through so many! I loved the idea. They are also going to make a quilt for each of us to remember our time here. How creative! I have really enjoyed it here. The ward is so service-oriented. What a great reminder. Sometimes I get caught up in daily things that I forget to serve. I'm so grateful for the examples of others.

"...the spitting image of my father..."

Country singer Jessica Andrews has a song that my sisters and I used to sing to while we stood on the chairs around the kitchen table, belting it out like nobody's business. I was reminded of a part of the song when I took the following picture of Keira and her Daddy. The full chorus goes...

"I am Rosemarys granddaughter, the spitting image of my father, and when the day is done my momma's still my biggest fan, sometimes I'm clueless and I'm clumsy, but I've got friends that love me and they know just where I stand, It's all a part of me and that's who I am."

I love this song. It always meant a lot to me because I can relate so much to it. I just thought it was funny how much Keira looked like her Daddy.

Fourth. Fun. Fiance. Fans. Family.

We've had just a few fun things that happened this month already. We celebrated the 4th at a nearby park with our APX team. Yummy food and a non-stop soccer game were the highlights. Actually, another highlight is that we had a visitor from Utah...actually, Rick's cousin Jake did. Jake's recent fiance, Ashley, surprised him with an earlier-than-planned visit and he surprised her with an engagement ring! I only wanted to include this because I got to participate in all the fun. Ashley had contacted me to pick her up from the airport 2 days earlier than Jake expected. But, later in the weekend, Jake needed me to pick up THE ring so Ashley didn't know about it. Boy was it fun! It reminded me how much fun it is to surprise your special someone. I'll be working on that Rick...

Rick's still got it! He's the one with the glowing shoes.

Jake, Ashley, and my bald baby - she's lost all the hair on the top of her head, but still has tons on the back.

Thanks Gramma Jenny for my cute outfit! My first 4th of July!

We also had to complete Rick's birthday present so we went to the Yankees vs. Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium. It's the last year it will be open before they tear it down. But first we stopped at Central Park because we had some time before the game.

Keira was the perfect baby. She slept through the whole game!

The last, but far from least, fun event we have had in the last couple of weeks was a visit from my sister-in-law's sister. Amy's sister, Stacey, her son D.J., and soon-to-be baby brother were so nice to drive 2 hours to come see Keira and me and bring us dinner! It was way too nice, but so fun to get even a piece of my family. Amy - Stacey reminds me so much of you! It was fun to chat with her because I haven't seen her in years, but poor D.J. couldn't play with Keira. He was such a good sport and so cute! Thanks so much Stacey, D.J., baby brother and of course, Amy. You guys sure made our day! (Sorry the picture is so bad. Stacey was right about the lighting.)

Precious Girl

My sister, Jill, rocks! She was so nice to design our baby announcement for us and it turned out awesome. Thanks Jill! We owe you!

I know...she is almost 6 weeks old now, but we've had just a few crazy things going on that took us too long to get it together. You'll just have to get over it because here it is! Yeah for babies!
