Just June

June was wonderful.  We have really taken in summer and enjoyed every moment of the sunshine we can.  It makes me happy to be able to be outside with family and friends and enjoy fresh air ALL THE TIME.  My spirits are lifted and I feel happy all the time.  I wouldn't say I hate winter; I just LOVE summer.  It is ranking up there among one of my favorite things.  Awwwww.

Anyway.  Here's a quick run through of just a few things we did:

One of the best highlights this month was Father's Day.  To our favorite Dad:

We also celebrated our favorite guy's birthday this month.  Rick started his day with a half marathon through Provo canyon.  We met him there later on since it started early and went straight to the waterpark.  After a couple of hours of riding slides and swimming, we headed home.  Rick took a nap (he was up at 4:45 am) so he could enjoy the rest of his fun day.  I took him to the spa where he got a massage and I got a pedicure.  We later met friends for a delicious sushi dinner and rounded out the evening with a movie.  A very busy day for a well deserved guy.

Now for the rest of the month:

Rick and I branched out of our usual date night of dinner and a movie.  We went for a hike up to a beautiful waterfall.  Don't get me wrong!  I love dinner and a movie.  It's nice just to be with my man.  But, since we are both doing a lot to get in shape and stay that way, we decided to make it a hike night.  Best idea ever!  I'm not going to say it wasn't hard because it was!  But, I loved every minute.  We talked a lot and I loved being away from the world.  There's something special about being among God's creations, feeling connected to Him, and being with the person I love more than anything in this world.  It brings peace to my soul.  I love being outdoors.

Swim lessons - Keira was at a better age at learning and applying her swimming skills, but both of the girls definitely enjoyed being in the water for 2 weeks straight.  We are a family of fish!

Keira has started a tumbling class.  She absolutely loves it!  They do not allow spectators during class except from outside the room.  They don't mess around!  Keira learned how to do a cartwheel just after her 2nd class.  She's unstoppable.  I'm so happy we found something she loves so much because I always loved tumbling when I was young.  I especially love that she WANTS to practice.  The daily question is "can we practice tumbling?"  Of course!!

Rick has been training for a Half Ironman.  He has done many races to prepare himself.  We are so proud of him.  HE'S THE MAN!

Tinfoil dinners is an annual tradition.  We probably go up the canyon at least 4-5 times each summer just for tinfoil dinners.  The kids never get enough.

We spend a lot of time doing water activities.  Anything from waterparks to splash pads.  We even made it to Aunt Terri's to go swimming with cousins Olivia and Jude.

If Cooper ever disappears from sight, it's often because he's found a wheel to entertain him.  I love that he is such a boy already.

A beautiful day at the park.

Cooper having a delicious dinner of spaghetti and meatballs

My sister, Gina, brought her 3 younger kids to come for a visit.  She stayed with us for just a couple days, but we enjoyed every minute.  We played in the water and had another night of tinfoil dinners complete with a mini hike.  Cooper kept chasing Cassanni everywhere.  She didn't seem to mind.

That's a pretty good rundown of the month of June.  I LOVE IT!!
