July Part 3 of 3

July doesn't actually end here.  Our end of July family reunion deserves it's own post (or posts).  I will get to that later.  The following pictures are just a few extras from throughout the month.

Vivint sponsored a manager's weekend.  We are spoiled!  First, we met Rick's co-workers at Deer Creek Reservoir.  They had rented waverunner's and a boat for us to play on.  The girl's made some new friends and Cooper was a trooper.  We had a busy day and a late night.  Of course, give the boy dirt to play in, water to splash in, and sunshine, he's a happy kid.

They took us to dinner that night to a local restaurant and we checked into our hotel, the zermatt resort in Midway.  We felt fancy.  The plan for the next morning was to do a hot air balloon ride, but the weather wasn't cooperating so we had to come up with a back up.  Instead, we had a delicious breakfast at the St Regis in Park City.  Afterwards, everyone pretty much split up and went home or other destinations.  We decided to take advantage of the pool so we went for a swim. 

The drive home goes through Provo Canyon.  A spontaneous idea popped into my head.  Rick had proposed to me at Sundance Resort, right off the main canyon road, so it has always been a special place for us.  We thought it would be fun to take the kids there.  It was a beautiful day.  We picked up lunch and rode the chairlifts up the mountain for a hike. 

We weren't totally prepared for everything since this was quite spontaneous so we improvised on a hat for Cooper.  The girls couldn't stop laughing.

I think we'll be returning here often.  More memories in the making.  I love it!

7-11 does their free slurpees on July 11.  Oh so clever, aren't they?  We went with our close friends, Maddix, Elle, and Berklee (not pictured) - She was hangin' with Cooper.

Our ward hosted a neighborhood parade for an early July 24 Pioneer Day celebration.  We decked out our bikes and joined our friends.  They provided breakfast at our church building pavilion, the Young Women painted faces, and there were games to play.  The girls and I attempted a 4 legged race.  It was supposed to be 3, but both the girls wanted to be my partner.  You can only imagine how hard that was!

July Part 2 of 3

I stole my friend's idea this year and combined Keira and Lexi's friend party.  I decided a few years ago I didn't want to have a friend party each year.  It's too overwhelming for me and I even love to throw parties!  That is starting to fade unfortunately BECAUSE it is overwhelming.  I decided it was important to me to keep an expectation that we sometimes dedicate birthdays to family time.  I have loved doing that. 

We snagged a deal on a bounce house that we saved for the girl's big bash.  Add water and it was coming together.  About a week before the party, my friend offered her bounce house/waterslide for me to add to the backyard accessories.  I was super excited since it evened out the madness throughout the yard.  One side was the waterslide and on the other was the bounce house with water toys in between.  What a hit! 

Gotta have presents, cake, and guests!

I would totally do this again.  Super fun!

July? Where are you? Part 1 of 3

It has been a whirlwind since my last post.  There has been a lot of activity in our house and even away from our house.  There are probably nowhere near enough pictures to prove it.  One phrase will do:  I LOVE SUMMER!  I think because I have kids now my summer love has increased, but taken a different direction.  Everything we do is revolved around the kids.  Just can't get enough of those cuties. 

We celebrated the 4th of July with Gramma Judy and Aunt Coley.  I always love getting visits from my sisters (clearing throat...hint hint).  The parade was the first event.  We had photo shoots while we waited for it to start.

After the parade, the girls got to pick one activity.  How did I know it would be face painting?

The rest of the day was spent playing at Gramma Judy's house while we waited for Daddy to join us after work.  We played ladder ball, rocket ships, ate snowcones and delicious bbq food.

Uncle Dallin was even able to join us for dinner.

We finished the holiday with fireworks.  Grampa Steve was nice enough to stay home with Cooper while he slept so we could enjoy the show.  I forgot how bright fireworks are!  It's been awhile since I've been to a show directly beneath the fireworks.  I needed sunglasses!
