June

We have one theme this month...Play Outside! We have spent most of our time outside. We're trying to make up for the last few summers of not being in Utah :) And We. Are. Loving. It!

Animal Farm and Pony Ride at Thanksgiving Point
A few days at Gramma Judy's while Daddy was at scout camp. Poor Gramma sprained her wrists so we took care of her while she spoiled us :)

Relaxing on the boat
When we were done on the water, we brought the boat to us...this inner-tube was like using a blow up pool. It was obviously a hit!
My favorite purchase this month
Liberty Park in SLC - they have this cute riverwalk near the park for kids to splash around in and there is TONS of shade! Great for a hot day.
Lehi Round-Up Days Parade
Post parade festivities. What a blast! The girls rode the train,
played on bounce houses,
got their faces painted (K - princess, L - butterfly),rode on the cutest swing ride I've ever seen (it was powered by fans and combined with the wind, it picked up a perfect amount of speed!),
and got to pet the animals.
Noah's Ark Fountain at Thanksgiving Point
Waiting for the water to appear. "Where is it?"Besides making these day trips, we spend tons of time just in the comfort of our backyard. The weather in Utah is crazy, but way more comfortable than anywhere we've ever lived (besides good ol' California). We love summer!

2-9

Boyeeeeeeee. He is 29. Where has the time gone? We celebrated Rick's b-day simple this year. He woke to a fancy donut. His favorite cake is German Chocolate cake and since we are cake-d out right now, we got him a german chocolate donut instead.

His only request for his birthday was to go camping. Simple request, right? Not quite. His birthday was the Wednesday before he was going to scout camp the following Monday. Instead, we decided to do one of our favorite family activities: tin-foil dinners in the canyon. (Camp trip is postponed, but will happen sometime this summer!)

Can't forget the s'mores! Oh and everyone needs to try it with nutella. To die for!
We love our Daddy Rick. Happy birthday honey.

Busy, busy, busy!

We had a fun week with lots of family. Gramma Lynda came to Utah for a sibling ATV trip, but since we were here for the first time EVER in the summer, she pushed back her flight so she could spend some time with us. We discovered some new places (to us anyways). Liberty Park in Salt Lake is going to be one of my favorite spots this summer. So many fun things to do there! But this time, we went to the Aviary where we observed over 400 species of birds! It was so cool.

Sister hugs before feeding the birds
Keira didn't even flinch when the birds landed on her!
It took Lexi a little while to warm up, but having mommy or daddy close by made it much easier.
Waiting for the bird show to start...so excited!
Gramma Lynda had never been to Thanksgiving Point so, of course, that was next on our list of things to do. The Tulip Festival had passed but it was still beautiful. We walked the gardens and Gramma was in heaven. She LOVES flowers.

Some squeeze time with Gramma...Lexi was being stubborn.
Finally a family photo-op. These are quite rare these days. We're following the leader, the leader...
the leader...
Daddy and his girls
Stop #3: Boondocks. It's like Golfland on steroids (Fellow Californians know what I'm talking about). Uncle Cam joined us for this stop. We enjoyed mini-golf,
and Keira was my speed partner in Go-Karts. Lexi was too short so she hung back with Gramma. She was a sad girl. We took Uncle Cameron out of the race with our sweet driving skills!
Amidst the stimulation overload, we went to cousin Olivia's birthday party. These girls are 2 days apart. Cute cousins. Lexi decided to cut her final teeth and was miserable for 4 days. She wasn't feeling well enough to join the fun, but we were glad to show our cousin how much we love her. Swimming is always a bonus.
What's a birthday party without a little help opening presents.
