She's here!

We have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl! Keira Nicole was born May 29th at 12:27 am, 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long. So for those of you who voted in the polls...Keira was early and between 7 - 8 lbs. Good guessing!

I can't begin to explain the overwhelming feelings of motherhood. It's for real! The labor was long, but the delivery was short. I started feeling contractions at 3 am Wednesday morning (the 28th). For about 5 hours, they were 20 minutes apart so I slept in between them so I could stay home longer. At about 11:30 am, they were coming 5 - 7 minutes apart. We called the doctor and they suggested coming into the hospital to see about admittance. We arrived at the hospital about 12:30 pm. I was dilated to only 2 cm, but 90% effaced. Unfortunately, the dilation took the whole rest of the day. I tried walking and taking a bath for the pain, but hadn't progressed at all over 4 hours so I was given an epidural because I was already pretty tired. After 3 more doses of the anesthesia and, of course, added potossin for stronger contractions, at 11:30 pm I was fully dilated! Hallelujah! The doctor was called in, I pushed for about 15 minutes and voila! Keira was finally here! We have been having so much fun with her already. Rick has been such a wonderful daddy and he's been pretty bummed he can't stay home with her more. Someone's gotta support this precious baby, though! I feel so spoiled to have such a good baby. Rick and I feel blessed for a healthy start to our family. Parenthood Rocks!

ummmmmm....Leah? Oh it is so random and awesome to find you! What a cute family you have! I think about you carter middletons every once in a while...I actually saw Jill when she lived in AZ. So this must be your first baby right? Congrats! I have a five year old daughter and a 2 year old little boy. I can't believe girls camp was like 9 years ago or something...weird. You look exactly as cute as you did then. I hope your whole family is well. Tell them hi for me. Its good to hear you baby isn't being to hard on you. Just never get too comfortable because they like to switch it up. Welcome to the world of poop and vomit! I know you will be an amazing mom!
