December - all that ISN'T Christmas

I decided to split up my December posts into 2 categories:  all that ISN'T Christmas and all that IS.  Christmas is my favorite holiday and brings about my favorite time of year.  Although I get gloomy from snowy weather, I always fight it with cheer around the holidays.  There is so much to be happy about!  So all that ISN'T Christmas begins...

Cousin Brinley invited us to her birthday party at Boondocks.  Aunt Leslie is an amazing cake maker and made her a giant hershey kiss cake!  How fun would that be to smash your face into!  We also got to play laser tag and arcade games with them.  The girls did pretty good with laser tag considering their packs were super heavy.

Our ward put on an amazing Christmas party.  The decor was cool, complete with a marketplace with food and games, seating on blankets, a recreation of the story of Christ's birth, and a slide show with congregational singing.  We got to dress up for the occasion.  Lexi enjoyed being Mary and Keira decided to be a shepherd.

Rick found the coolest tool.  He bought a block mold to make igloos in the snow!  It was like $3!  The cheapest entertainment I've ever seen!  The girls thought it was the coolest thing ever...and so did I!  They enjoyed their lunch and hot chocolate inside their own private igloo that day.  Best. Dad. Ever!

The girls participated in a combination dance class for a few months.  They did tap and ballet.  It was definitely the highlight of each week.  At the end of the year, they had a dance showcase and received awards for something unique about them.  Lexi received "outstanding chugs" and Keira received "outstanding memory and technique".  I've been grateful that they were okay taking a break.  The weather has been in the extremes and a new baby in that?  No thank you.  Plus, we've been trying to avoid places with lots of germs for awhile.  No sick babies PLEASE!!

We did get to the dinosaur museum since it's been awhile and Cooper didn't mind sleeping in his carseat.  We were invited by some of our favorite friends.  L to R:  Keira, Madison, Elle, Maddix, Lexi

I enjoyed caroling with my activity day girls at an assisted living home.  It is one of my favorite activities that we've done.

And finally, a couple random photos of The Little Man...just for fun and because he's so darn cute.
