Basement Drama

After a fun morning with Gramma, we came home to a less-than-nice surprise.  Something (to me) sounded like a waterfall...in our house!!  Yep.  Water was pouring into our basement from the basement windows.  Ahhhh!  It's hard to tell in the pictures, but water had seeped into most of the carpet, but luckily didn't make it to the theater or playroom side of the house.  We are lucky to have friends in the flooring business so Rick called him, he called a friend from Utah Disaster, and UD were here in 20 minutes!!  They started draining the water right away and used de-humidifiers to suck out the moisture.  The water had seeped enough in the carpet and lower walls that some deconstruction had to occur.  The carpet pad was removed and parts of the walls had insulation and dry wall taken out.  Luckily, Rick was home to take care of this and should be come to do most of the replacement work.  As crazy as this is, we have found some interesting, yet wonderful, blessings from it.  The Lord works in mysterious ways :)
