Easter...in March?

Was it weird for anyone else to have Easter come so quickly?  I love Easter.  It is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays.  There's something about centering a holiday around Christ that really speaks to my heart.  Most of the traditional festivities we did before Easter, but I couldn't rob my kids of the traditions that are super fun.  Gramma Judy wanted to keep her tradition of chocolate peanut butter eggs so the girls assisted.  We later delivered them to special friends and even some family. 

Gramma Jenny also never disappoints (disclaimer please: there is no pressure for you to keep this up...seriously) and keeps her holiday tradition of packages in the mail.  Even when we were kids, we'd wake up each holiday with goody bags of fun: makeup, candy, socks, and even some new underwear.  My kids love it, too.  Anytime we go to the mailbox, they ask if there are "presents" today.  They always look forward to the packages full of surprises.

My good friend, Kim, decided to host an Easter party with a few friends.  Lucky us since we weren't going big this year.  She was ready with an egg hunt, trampoline jumping, and egg races.  Any excuse to be outside is fine by me!

Easter Day arrived.  I tried to mesh the spiritual side with the commercial side of Easter by doing a First Easter Day Egg Scavenger Hunt.  Kind of a mouthful, right?  To start, the kids received a note explaining the scavenger hunt.  At each new location was another egg asking a question about the first Easter.  Once they answered the question, they would look on the back of the clue for the next place to go.  Everyone learned about Easter and had fun in the process.  We later ate a delicious breakfast, went to church, took Easter pictures, dyed eggs, and tried a new Easter craft.  I love having holidays on a Sunday.
